Toni Huata needs no introduction to New Zealand music fans. Since her introduction to the music stage as support for The Neville Brothers in 1993 ("beautiful vocal power" Evening Post), Toni has appeared as a contributor to several Maori compilations (Tangiora", "He Pounamu", etc).
Toni Huata's debut album is built around her grandfather's (Te Okanga (Aussie) Huata) composition for the 1986 Te Maori exhibition Te Maori E. - the album is a smooth mix of jazz, jungle, flamenco, dub, classical, poi and traditional.
